So THIS is Christmas

Last night was one of the warmest Christmas Eve's in recent history so what a perfect time for 8 of us to  get in our cars and seek out those very elaborately decorated houses that everyone has been talking about.
The house we found on the Sherwood Forest Golf Club was head and shoulders above any house we had every seen before, complete with falling snow.
Check it out:

Olivier talked to the owner of the house who told him he does this every year. He starts at the beginning of October and does it all himself. Hundreds of people walk around his property every night in December right up to his front door and he loves it.

Problem solved!

Olivier has taken to having a glass of wine every afternoon (medicinal purposes he tells me). Problem was the wine glass would tip over in the cup holder in the golf cart.
But then I found a travel mug with a built-in wine glass. The best part is I found it at the dollar store. And now you know why we love this country!

A perfect fit!

What a great idea!

Dinner and Quiddler

With both their spouses out of town, Olivier and I were happy to invite Chris and Sally over for dinner and then taught them both to play Quiddler.
Sally said she was going to go out and buy her own game. Chris, on the other hand, may never play again!!!

Christmas de-lights

Last night was the Christmas De-lights show on Twin Lakes Drive and Fairview Drive. Every year the residents of these streets host a street party and collect food and money for the local food bank.
As well as the beautiful decorations there are many bands and choirs putting us in the holiday spirit and cider and cookie stops along the way.

'Tis the season

There is no snow and it's not cold but as always the people around here find ways to get into the spirit.
Today was the annual golf cart parade - oh what fun!.

Lynx

One of the things we like to do here in the afternoon is pour ourselves a couple of drinks, jump in our golfcart  and ride around - we call it a 'rum run'. We often meet friends who are out doing the same thing, or sometimes we see criitters we don't ever see at home- aligators, wild pigs, wild turkeys, otters, etc.
Yesterday we were surprised to see a lynx just sitting in somebodies driveway. I wish I would have remembered to bring my camera but I only had my phone camera so it's a little hard to see but trust me - it's a lynx!

I may become alcoholic!

Olivier has been craving good shrimp for about eight months now so we headed off to one of our favorite seafood restaurants in Titusville - Crackerjacks.
The seafood was fantastic as usual, dolphins were jumping all around us and the sun was shining.
There was just one problem - my iced tea cost more than Olivier's beer so apparently I have to switch to beer or we can't afford to go back!
The view from our table

This is where we walked off our meal
There was none left for a doggie bag!
Only in America can beer cost $2.10 while iced tea costs $2.25

Back to bowling

Yesterday was the first of 2 practice sessions before TGO bowling starts in January. It was great seeing old friends, meeting new people and of course practicing bowling.
It was certainly worth the aches and pains we woke up with this morning. Of course that won't stop me from going to Bingo tonight!
