Finally!

In case you are wondering why there haven't been any posts about our Bingo winnings this year, well there hasn't been anything to report..... until now.
Olivier won, not once but twice ( in a row!) for a grand total of $100.00. Not bad for a $5.00 pack of cards. And to think he almost stayed home to watch the Junior Hockey Tournament in Canada.

Happy Everything!

No one can accuse this person of not being politically correct!
But whatever you choose to celebrate this holiday season, we wish you all the best.
And a very special greeting to Hilda, Shuki and their family, our loyal blog readers from across the miles- a Very Happy Hanukkah to you all.

Cloudy but nice

Have you noticed that your Internet is faster today? Me neither - but that was the mission of this
Atlas V rocket that went up yesterday afternoon.

It was hard to see it with all of the cloud cover but we sure heard it.

The rocket is that vertical white smoke between the clouds

Always happy hour at Durango's

We went out to Durango's Steak House last night and Olivier ordered a rum and Coke and I ordered a margarita. We forgot that it's always happy hour at Durango's but the best part - it was our Anniversary so all the drinks were FREE! Thank you Durango's.
Needless to say, I was seeing double by the time I left but it was a great meal and a great celebration.

Hope Santa doesn't prefer Pepsi!

After breaking her little toe hauling in Christmas decorations Carole wasn't going to bother with her Coca Cola Christmas tree but when we offered to help her she couldn't refuse.
She has ornaments dating back to the 1930's and most of them in the original boxes.
It was a fun morning for all of us.

I was in charge of unwrapping the ornaments - no easy task. Carole keeps them well wrapped.

This is one of the few hand made ones- made from a Coke can, of course

Olivier got the lights working again and then helped place the ornaments

Voila!

Morning sightings

No sign of Rudolph yet but Olivier keeps noticing more and more deer (reindeer?) every morning on his walks.
Funny though, it sure doesn't feel like the North Pole here!

Christmas de-lights

Another one of our favorite holiday festivities was held last night - it is called Christmas de-lights. Two streets that go all out with Christmas decorations invite everyone to come out and enjoy the decorations, the choirs , the cookies and cider.
Last night was such a warm and beautiful night ( I know everyone back home did not want to hear that!) we all decided to ditch our golf carts and walk the whole route.
And the best part is that canned goods and money are collected for the local food bank.

Vicky looking a little spooky

A beautiful full moon helped light our way.

This is how Santa gets around here at Space Coast Florida!

The Golf Cart Parade

After a week of extremely hot weather some people may have been disappointed in last night's dip down to 65F but it didn't stop most of us from enjoying the annual golf cart parade.

Mary and Pat were kind enough to invited us over since the parade was passing right in front of their house.

...and here they come!

This was Canada's entry into the lineup.

I know there was a golf cart in there somewhere!

What great use of all the dead palm fronds after the hurricane

Can you hear me now?

Last night right after supper, on a clear and starry night we stepped out of our front door and witnessed the launch of a Delta IV rocket. This rocket is intended to enhance military communications.
Perhaps it was a coincidence that when we came back in the house our phone kept disconnecting when Monique called from home. I guess 400 million dollars doesn't buy what it used to!

Practice! Practice! Practice!

In anticipation of our bowling league starting up in the New Year many of us thought it would be a good idea to go out and throw some balls yesterday. Turns out it really was a good idea! But the best part was getting together with a lot of our bowling buddies  we haven't seen in a while.
I think we'll be trying again next week.

So this was the result of our first game in 8 months

Some serious bowlers!

Mary M. filled in for Sally who won't be back until next week.

Mary M. got a strike, then I got a strike and so did Mary L.  but the pressure proved too much for Olivier!

Keeping it clean

Nothing pleases Olivier more than being able to wash and wax the car in November.
Too much sun to wax the car in daytime???
Not this year.............

The laneway is completely covered!

The Abuelo Boys

One of the Abuelo boys got left behind last year and I had high hopes of him making it to Christmas, but alas, it was not to be. However we did manage to find one lonely orphan on the shelf at Walgreen's and we took him home for the Holidays. Here's hoping he can last until the New Year!
Note to Sylvain: Don't worry - somewhere in Titusville a set of Abuelo twins are waiting to be adopted and brought back to Canada!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

With Thanksgiving over, everyone was out yesterday putting up Christmas decorations, so we took a little drive after supper to check them out.
