The Abuelo Boys

One of the Abuelo boys got left behind last year and I had high hopes of him making it to Christmas, but alas, it was not to be. However we did manage to find one lonely orphan on the shelf at Walgreen's and we took him home for the Holidays. Here's hoping he can last until the New Year!

Note to Sylvain: Don't worry - somewhere in Titusville a set of Abuelo twins are waiting to be adopted and brought back to Canada!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

With Thanksgiving over, everyone was out yesterday putting up Christmas decorations, so we took a little drive after supper to check them out.

A Very Happy Thanksgiving

Our dear friend Bill insisted that we join him and Carole at his son's house for Thanksgiving. He promised us a 'very traditional but informal' Thanksgiving meal and it was that and so much more! We enjoyed meeting David and Vickie and spent a very enjoyable time with them.

By the time we drove home we noticed the extremely long lineups of cars trying to get a parking spot at Walmart and Target- Black Friday started at 6pm last night. And no, I did not join the line, nor do I intend to go today. Although I must admit I did get a jump start on Cyber Monday and did my shopping online last night!

Bill looked forward to his Thanksgiving feast and was the first to get to the table!

David did all the cooking including a 20 pound turkey and all the traditional  fixings

I meant to take more pictures but once all the food came out......!

It's finally here!

There has been a sign in front of the new shopping centre being built in Titusville saying Hobby Lobby( my favorite place to buy yarn) is opening soon. Well, that sign was there for the last 18 months ( makes you wonder what the definition of soon is down here) but last month it finally opened and I was thrilled. 

And with a new grandson on the way I will have lots of knitting to do so it could not have happened at a better time.

The backyard of our house this year gives us a beautiful view of the 11th green of the TGO golf course. 

One of my favorite wildlife down here is the Florida Sandhill Crane and this couple came by to greet us this morning.   

These birds mate for life and always stay together when they travel. Their young are born in the early spring - I think we'll name these 2 Joel and Cailin!!

Amtrak

So, we decided this year, instead of traveling coach we would go in style and reserve a sleeper car. They call it a 'roomette' but a more appropriate name would be a 'closette'. No worries though, we are anticipating a cozy night. We are playing cards right now - loser gets the top bunk!
