Meals on Wheels

At home we are used to eating at chip wagons or food trucks but down here it is a fairly new concept and still operating on a trial basis.
A convoy of food trucks has been going around Central Florida on a fixed schedule and last night they came to Titusville. People were lined up by the dozens at every truck and brought lawn chairs and tables to eat right on the spot. It felt like one big tailgate party.
We weren't quite brave enough to try lobster from a truck called Monsta Lobsta - we thought we would go in for something a bit more conservative at the Fork in the Road truck. We ordered something called 50/50 burgers - WOW were they great. We were told the secret was to use only top sirloin with real bacon ground up right into the meat before cooking. Lettuce, tomato and garlic mayo topped of one of the best burgers we have ever had.
The next trip to Titusville will be Feb 24 and you can be sure we will be back.
Judging by the positive response and good press I'm sure the Food Truck Bazaar (this is a link to the first Titusville stop) is considered a huge success.
By the way, speaking of press, you may have been reading in the news about snow in Florida today but don't worry about us. It's 81 F here. The snow is just in the panhandle in the North.

This is where we got our food

Maybe next time!

This looked good but we were just to full to try it . Next time we'll start with dessert!

Playing for Pizza

Our friends have been asking us for years to join the TGO Bowling League and this year we thought 'why not'. It's a great way to meet new people, get a little exercise and have some fun. Whereas this is all true, we very quickly realized Americans take their bowling very seriously so what could we do but get serious as well. So to that end we went out and bought custom- sized balls, shoes and bags to carry everything. Will this investment improve our game? Who knows, who cares - we're just playing for pizza!

Right again Andy!

For the 8 years we have been coming down here we got in the habit of going out for breakfast every Tuesday morning to the Sunrise Bakery  downtown. That is where we met Andy.
Originally from Michigan, Andy has lived in Titusville for many decades. We consider him a good friend and an excellent source of all information concerning Titusville and Florida.
So when we were wondering about the best restaurant around here for Italian food we naturally asked Andy. He gave us the address of what he considered to be the best and insisted we try it last night.
Well, it turns out the address he gave us was his beautiful home where his lovely wife Barb treated us to one of the best Italian feasts we have had since Franca and Fern fed us back home!
Thank you for your hospitality Barb and Andy. It was a very enjoyable evening.

No money, just a bunny

Was not a good week for winning money at BINGO again, but this time I did manage to win a door prize. I was very excited when I thought the 2 foot rabbit they handed me was all chocolate. But when I found out it was actually porcelain (i.e. extremely breakable) I knew I had to find a good home for it right here in the TGO.
I'm happy to say this rabbit has found a good home with Bev and Jack ( unless of course Bev decides to re-gift it ) I'm pretty sure that's how I ended up with it in the first place!

Perseverance pays off

Joanne, Guy, Steve and Nikko came over for supper last night.
For some bizarre reason Steve did not want me taking everyone's picture.
Well, I had to prove that the hand was NOT quicker than the camera and I finally got the shot. Unfortunately it was at the exact moment that Guy chose to lick brownie icing off his finger!
